The purpose behind design at Schmidt Associates is to act passionately and intentionally out of our Core Principles of Design, which are the mirrors of our kaleidoscope.
The second of these principles is Stewardship. This principal is a hallmark of Schmidt Associates’ strong belief in Servant Leadership. We work with clients to achieve the maximum value for their design opportunities within their budget. The attributes of this principle deliver the highest and best value for each client.
Discussing this principle produces a design response to generate the most effective solution for each client, making this similar to the Strategic Principle in that it is very client-centric. Affordability, sustainability, and energy-efficiency for a particular design solution is ultimately driven by the value placed on those attributes by the client and the level to which they can address that within their budget.
The strength of the built solution’s responses to these questions will greatly define its success. The design must fit each client in such a way that it is activated best by that client, making it highly usable and adaptable over time.
