This monumental project, born from a powerful vision, is set to become a new home for Indiana swine during the Indiana State Fair, as well as a hub for community events, connection, and a deeper appreciation for agriculture throughout the year. Join us as we delve into the significance of this remarkable project and invite you to be a part of this transformative journey.
A Vision Takes Shape
Deep within the hearts and minds of the Indiana State Fair passionate team, a vision began to flourish more than seven years ago—an extraordinary pavilion nestled amidst the beauty of Fall Creek. Years of meticulous planning, unwavering dedication, and collaborative efforts have finally culminated in the breathtaking Fall Creek Pavilion that will welcome millions of visitors starting July 28. This majestic structure is poised to redefine the landscape of our community and serve as a testament to our commitment to fostering a stronger, more vibrant Indiana.
“Decades of people have realized the importance of this institution for the citizens of Indiana,” said Indiana State Fair Commission Executive Director Cindy Hoye. “State lawmakers have put forward the resources to make sure we preserve it, enhance it, and take care of it while continuing to make it viable in today’s world.”
Igniting Community Spirit
The Fall Creek Pavilion stands as a symbol of unity, drawing together individuals from all walks of life. With its spacious design and state-of-the-art amenities, this multifunctional venue is poised to host a myriad of events, from the State Fair Swine competitions to large-scale sporting events. By providing a central gathering place, the Indiana State Fair aims to encourage interaction, nurture a sense of belonging, and strengthen generations of agricultural heritage that makes Indiana thrive.
Embodying Modern Architecture
With a seamless fusion of contemporary architecture, the Fall Creek Pavilion is a testament to creating a modern marvel that is built for the 21st Century. With plenty of loading and unloading space and elements of environmental stewardship and historic preservation, the building will make history as being the one that changed the Indianapolis skyline.
“When the Indiana State Fairgrounds were constructed in the late 1890s, they were built for fairgoers to bring their animals by train, and they didn’t have to worry about 55-foot trailers,” Hoye said. “To solve this challenge, Schmidt Associates designed a premiere, state-of-the-art facility that will open for livestock and serve as a multi-purpose building to host large events throughout the year.”
The Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion is set to create a ripple effect of positive change throughout the community. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the Pavilion will serve as an educational resource, offering history of Indiana agriculture, environmental conservation, and healthy living. Additionally, the venue will provide opportunities for economic growth.
