What happens when a former superintendent joins a design firm?
For Jason Radford, it’s not about changing careers—it’s about expanding his impact. After 27 years in public education, most recently as Superintendent of Oldham County Schools, Jason has joined Schmidt Associates as a business development representative and educational consultant.
“Facilities aren’t just buildings—they’re tools for connection, pride, and student success. I’ve seen how the right planning process can transform not just a school, but an entire community.”
During his time at Oldham County, Jason helped raise teacher pay by more than 17%, rolled out student-centered initiatives like Passion to Pathway, and led strategic facility upgrades that supported academics, arts, and athletics.
His leadership style is rooted in servant leadership, collaboration, and helping school systems think boldly about the future. And that’s what drew him to Schmidt Associates.
“I wanted to join a team that listens to school leaders and understands what it’s like to sit in their chair.”
Jason will be partnering with districts across Kentucky and beyond to support long-range visioning, community engagement, and strategic facility planning.
