Monty enjoys understanding how buildings function and operate through HVAC systems and plumbing design. He also loves learning about new systems and giving back to the communities where he lives and works. By taking past experiences and applying them into a team environment, he strives to help create well-coordinated projects and system designs that benefit Owners. For Monty, this means building and developing strong relationships that form structurally sound solutions.
Outside of Work
As Schmidt Associates’ first fully remote employee, Monty resides in Nashville, Tennessee with his dog, but before relocating, he spent nearly seven years living and working in Pasadena, California. While most people wouldn’t expect Monty to ride a motorcycle, this is one of his favorite hobbies, along with playing volleyball, doing woodworking, and attending concerts, hockey, and baseball games.
