The Nazareth Campus has been home to the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth (SCN) since 1822. It currently serves as the permanent residence of 83 SCNs, St. Vincent Church, the headquarters of the Congregation’s central leadership team, the Provincial Leadership Team, a retreat center, and other administrative and operational support groups. A multi-disciplinary team, including Schmidt Associates, conducted a facility assessment and is completing a resulting master plan of approximately 265,000 SF in 19 buildings situated on approximately 300 acres. The campus includes a wide range of historic and modern buildings. The Motherhouse, built in 1822, is the oldest building on campus; the newest building, Vincent Cottage, was built in 2000. In response to changes in programs, population, and demographics, the resulting plan will explore how the campus can continue to serve the mission of the Sisters with a strong focus on responsiveness to social justice issues and an aggressive goal of becoming carbon zero.
