Shelby Eastern Schools wanted to provide students with learning environments that support creativity, collaboration, and a variety of learning styles while modernizing key areas of Morristown Elementary School. Schmidt Associates transformed the former gymnasium into a Discovery Center that combines a welcoming library with a flexible STEAM makerspace, creating a dynamic hub for reading, hands-on learning, and exploration. The project also included a new competition gymnasium, improved student collaboration spaces, and campus enhancements that better support everyday learning and school activities. Together, these improvements create a flexible, future-ready elementary school that reflects the district’s commitment to student success and innovative K-12 education.
