Lutheran Child and Family Services Shelter

The Lutheran Child and Family Service Shelter serves children and teens who may have experienced abuse and/or neglect and exhibit behavioral health issues.  The original facility was design with durability in mind, but the Owner wanted to “soften” the aesthetic with a warmer color palette, graphics, and adjustable lighting to make the youth feel more at home.

The secure facility features a community room, chapel, and six residential centers off the main space. Renovations are being completed in groups of two centers at a time to keep the facility occupied during construction. The walls now have panels with graphics or chalkboards in calming earth tones. The concrete floor was updated with patterns and stains. All materials remain durable and easy to clean.
Additional renovations included dimmable LED lighting, acoustical treatments, and restroom upgrades.
