Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion

The Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion is the first major capital project to roll out of the extensive 2016 Master Plan and Facility Assessment led by Schmidt Associates. Built in 1923, the original pavilion was mostly open air and had become obsolete. Working closely with DNR and the owner, Schmidt Associates developed a plan to restore the original brick and tile façade located on Main Street at the heart of the fairgrounds. A new addition was created behind the original façade, allowing the new main pavilion space to serve the needs of a contemporary user while preserving Indiana history. The facility is designed to be a best-in-class livestock facility and accommodate additional disparate user groups, including NCAA track and field, trade shows, and auto shows and auctions. A new facilities and operations headquarters for the fairgrounds was also constructed on the east side of the public-facing side of the facility. This hub efficiently services the entire fairgrounds, including the highest-use public pavilions.
