An abandoned Shelbyville strip mall—once housing a Marsh grocery store, bank, and retail areas—was transformed into the Golden Bear Preschool. The centralized preschool includes more than 20 classrooms, dining, outdoor playground, and a one-of-a-kind indoor playground designed specifically for the development of preschool-aged children. The project also includes space for the consolidation of administrative offices, professional development, and a community board room. All new MEP systems were installed, including a new 4-pipe central plant and VAV system, as well as new electrical infrastructure, LED lighting, new plumbing, and fire protection systems.
