Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana – Anderson Campus
General Studies Building
The Ivy Tech Anderson Campus needed a new facility due to enrollment and program growth in the health sciences. The college wanted a prominent community resource along the I-69 corridor to provide higher education opportunities, workforce training, and future conferencing capabilities. Schmidt Associates designed a two-phase plan, with the first phase creating new classrooms, labs, library, bookstore, and student commons. The second phase was a conference center that includes meeting rooms, lecture halls, and reception space. The key to success for the space was a full understanding of the needs of the students. Our team incorporated this understanding into the design of the library, quiet study spaces, and student commons, providing students places to go between their classes.
