Farm Credit Mid-America Corporate Office

Farm Credit Mid-America, a large financial services cooperative, wanted to bring employees from several locations together in one collaborative space—a former call center. Schmidt Associates, in partnership with Amy Wilson Eley, LLC, designed the three-story building at Lakefront Place, which now has capacity for 700 and features 80 conference rooms of varying sizes, a full-service gourmet cafeteria, game room, fitness room, and state-of-the-art data center. The company’s culture of collaboration drove the office’s functionality and design. Touchdown spaces, a large dining area, and a new open central staircase facilitate interaction of employees between floors and departments. Each of the three floors has a different theme related to the business: small town, agriculture, and livestock. Décor and conference room names are representative of their respective theme, featuring photography of real members and their farming operations. An expansion to the facility is currently underway.
