Project Overview
As the final of three focus areas for the Greater Indianapolis YMCA, a brand new facility was created to support Pike Township and the International Marketplace community. This setting offered major opportunities as it is one of the most demographically diverse areas of Indianapolis, and the building was designed to be welcoming to all. This facility also boasts a unique partnership between the YMCA and the Veterans Administration. An outpatient extension of the VA hospital, this facility has areas that directly focus on the healing needs of these brave men and women while giving opportunities to integrate with the community.
Schmidt Associates was the lead project architect and assisted in bringing the varied groups together into one cohesive design solution – creating unique spaces to support the various groups as well as a welcoming atmosphere for all who enter the doors.
