Project Overview
Mary Castle Elementary had outgrown its building due to the growing student body and the ever changing curriculum. To better utilize the current footprint of the building, new centralized restrooms and a new media center were built within the existing interior courtyards. The cafeteria was expanded to maximize seating area by incorporating a new addition, serving as a multipurpose room and bus loading/drop off. The kitchen now includes a double serving line—condensing lunch periods to a timelier pace.
By relocating office space to the front of the building, we could add a secured entry. Through the use of finishes and imagery, Schmidt Associates has helped Mary Castle Elementary School create a unique brand identifiable by anyone walking through their renovated space.
