Project Overview
The New Albany-Floyd community needed new school facilities to meet current educational, technology, and security standards. Schmidt Associates designed two new elementary schools, Green Valley and Slate Run, to be equitable but aesthetically different to capture the essence of each individual site and community. Green Valley Elementary was designed for a base of 500-600 PreK-5th grade students. A notable design feature is the tree house element in the cafeteria, the media center overlooking from the top.
