Lake Central School Corporation Optimization Services

At Lake Central School Corporation, building optimization is a continuous commissioning process that can enhance the formal commissioning process or stand on its own. The optimization team, including our controls systems specialist, perform site inspections, identify issues, and work collaboratively with the school district to resolve them in a timely manner. Generally, issues fall into five categories: occupant comfort, reliability, energy efficiency, operational efficiency, and extended equipment life. The results are building systems that operate much more efficiently and provide reliable occupant comfort. Additionally, as part of the optimization services Schmidt Associates has helped the district apply for, and receive, multiple utility rebates for energy-related projects. This has included lighting, insulation, and HVAC projects. Of note, the insulation and HVAC projects are custom projects requiring engineering calculations and collaboration with NIPSCO to receive approvals.
As a result of this work, Schmidt Associates received the Most Outstanding Engineering Services award from NIPSCO.
