Barnes & Thornburg Lobby

Barnes & Thornburg has owned and occupied the Historic Merchants Bank Building in downtown Indianapolis for years. When their long-term tenant, Borders, moved out, they decided it was time to take a fresh look at their exquisite historic lobby and explore how to reintegrate it as part of their office space. Schmidt Associates completed a feasibility study as to what the lobby space could be with associated costs. The finished project resulted in the complete renovation and restoration of a piece of Indianapolis’ history. The facility highlights the beauty of the intricate architectural details while providing a modern, technology-forward environment to welcome guests.
