Major Health Partners (MHP), in collaboration with Decatur County Family YMCA, wanted to create a new facility with multiple health and wellness service offerings for the Shelbyville community. The completed facility offers amenities, including an aquatic center, a gymnasium and walking track, exercise equipment, and a wellness clinic administered by MHP physicians. Spaces were designed to be flexible to accommodate children through seniors. Strategically placed, the aquatic center’s sweeping roofline and colorful wall panels greet visitors arriving to the campus. Inside, the pool offers separate areas for lap swimming, water aerobics, relaxation and therapy jets, and kids play. A sauna is adjacent to the pool deck.
