Constructed on an occupied site, this pre-K through 4th grade facility is centrally located in La Porte. The new two-story elementary school houses several community spaces and dedicated spaces for music and art, as well as special education classrooms and innovation labs. Located in each classroom wing, these labs offer flexible space for instruction or additional classrooms as necessary. Site safety is achieved by separating bus traffic from parent drop-off traffic. The staff parking lot is also separated to avoid crossing traffic to enter the building. Schmidt Associates has also continued to provide optimization services at the facility, resulting in substantial savings to the school corporation.
