The Passport Health Plan Headquarters Building will anchor the 19-acre campus located on the site of the old Phillip Morris in west Louisville. For many years, the property was abandoned and was the subject of several failed developments. In 2017, PHP acquired the property and hired our firm to prepare a Development Plan and to design a new, 337,000 sq. ft. facility with an adjacent 650-car parking facility. The total scope of the project will exceed $100 million.
The new Campus is arranged to honor the historic street grid that dates back to the 1820’s. Accordingly, 19th and 20th Street extend through the site as pedestrian passages which serve to break the street wall created by a nearly 600’ long elevation along Broadway. The passages provide access to the interior of the campus where eventually another 500,000 sq. ft. is planned for development.
