Project Overview
Ball State University had a goal to determine the long and short term options for their North Campus Residence Hall Area, these options would be detailed in the form of a master plan for future development. When hired to produce the Master Plan, Schmidt Associates explored various options in depth and produced a plan based on intense campus evaluations, including maintenance and operational costs. The resulting study identified the need to remove an aging dormitory costing the university over $2,000,000 annually. The removal of this dormitory provided abundant space for Ball State to build a residence hall that delivers the best of breed for style and technology for communications and emerging media students. Schmidt Associates employed the cornerstone of our philosophy that ensures signature solutions are arrived at by design, not accident, through a framework that reconciles inspiration with execution.
