Project Overview
Facility Assessment – Conducted a facility walk through of 37 buildings to provide a high level overview of the existing building conditions including: immediate site interface, building shell, interior finishes, building systems, and technology. From this assessment an order of magnitude of the scope and cost of the facility issues to be addressed across the campus were developed with a focus on the next 2-3 years. This was to assist with prioritizing facilities maintenance and upgrade projects based on current building and systems conditions.
Campus Site Assessment – As an extension to the facility assessment, a full campus assessment was conducted. The goals of this study were to fully understand the scope and condition of the existing infrastructure, determine a long-term strategy for upgrades, and identify opportunities for the campus fabric through strategic planning initiatives, landscaping, and design standards. In order to enhance the campus aesthetic, key initiatives were focused on campus gateway/public image, strengthening of the existing green spaces, and slowing/removing cars from pedestrian areas of campus. As future projects and initiatives are pursued, there was a desire to pursue a consistency in design standards. As such, standards were identified to create a consistent aesthetic that will complement and enhance the historic campus and its Georgian style architecture. In addition, the utilities were mapped and televised to accurately identify problem areas and holistic planning analysis was done for each system to create a comprehensive plan for the next 5-10 years.
