The new Protsman Elementary School was built to replace an existing facility that had become outdated and overcrowded. The new facility was constructed on the site of the former building, and through a transparent and collaborative approach and careful phasing and staging, changes were implemented to give children a leg up in a tech-forward world. Schmidt Associates delivered a facility that accommodated 700 students from Kindergarten through 4th grade. With a highly efficient mechanical system and wireless internet access, the technology of today is enhancing the learning environment of the children of tomorrow.

“To the entire crew, from the architect to the labor, what a wonderful building you have made for the community. Give each other a pat on the back and be proud of your accomplishment. I’m very proud that I will be the caretaker of this building. There’s still a lot to learn about the building, but I am looking forward to the challenge.”
