Project Overview
Franklin College has a commitment to leadership, the arts, and the latest technology. With a desire to welcome incoming and current students to gather, learn, and grow, Franklin College set out to build the Johnson Center for Fine Arts. Schmidt Associates designed the new space for the Art, Theater and Music Departments. The Johnson Center also houses the college’s leadership program, as well as providing a venue for community based activities. With a truly unique design featuring multi-storied glass pavilions, the center encourages students and visitors alike to take in and enjoy the arts. The pavilions lead to the lobby, which serves as a gallery for the students’ artwork and also functions as a meeting place during theater performances. The completed design links the campus and the community and is a glistening jewel, welcoming everyone to share in the college’s commitment to the arts.
