John Harrison

Being involved in projects that change the face of the city or a community is what drives John in his career. He lives for the projects where he designs a system that he’s never done before – putting in the research and then watching it come to life during construction. John would tell you that plumbing may not have the same “glamour” as architectural design, but the building is just a shell without the arteries that give it life! As part of Schmidt Associates’ engineering team, John brings 30+ years of experience and a detail-oriented eye to our projects.

Outside of work
John can be found creating and building with his hands – mostly remodeling his 1930’s home in Irvington with his husband or playing with their new grandbabies.
