Playing with legos, drawing, and building forts as a kid were the driving forces behind Joe’s inspiration to become an architect. He knew it was his calling while working in a camera shop, being drawn to the photos of buildings and spaces. Joe believes that the best realized projects are the result of consistently valuing the talents and experience of all project team members. By being open to really hearing and seeing what Owners, consultants, and contractors hold as important, the final built environment will genuinely be the product of shared goals. Joe also finds the natural world to be a great inspiration for architecture – believing that buildings that are conceived with natural forces in mind, and not in opposition to them, hold the most timeless appeal and quality.
Outside of work
Joe enjoys traveling with family, hiking, and bouncing around bluegrass music festivals. His family tries to make it to White River State Park for at least one concert a year.
