Project Overview
The JCTCS Health Sciences Hall is devoted to nursing and allied health related programs. One of the major goals of this project was to integrate the new building with the existing building (which also contained nursing and allied health programs) so that the functions of both facilities could be shared. We located the new building in front of the existing building, creating a new courtyard for outdoor activities. The east end of the existing building contained the cafeteria which was enlarged and developed into a multi-purpose atrium space off the new building’s lobby. A pedestrian bridge, spanning over the new atrium, then ties the new and existing buildings together, creating a structure which functions as one entity.
