Located in Vincennes, George Rogers Clark Middle School seamlessly blends with the community’s historic buildings, celebrating the rich history of the city, while simultaneously adopting the latest in technological advances. The resulting building achieved the first LEED for Schools certification in the state of Indiana. It is laid out in two zones – public and educational. The public zone – modeled after the historic buildings of the area – includes a media center, cafeteria, gymnasium, and fitness center. The educational zone is built to allow children to work in a project-based educational style. Rich in technology and using energy efficient systems and materials, these cutting-edge learning environments have been created to teach sustainability and energy consciousness to all students.
