Project Overview
Originally built in the 1950s, the DeHority Complex at Ball State University needed a renovation to meet the needs of the Honors College students. Ball State students participated in a long range plan for the redesigned residence halls. Schmidt Associates and SCB incorporated the students’ ideas into the DeHority Complex design, creating collaborative common spaces equipped with wireless technology, air conditioning, and private restrooms. A fitness room, laundry facility, computer lab, two-story lounge area, classrooms, and meeting areas were also included. Using the latest technology and amenities, Schmidt Associate brought the students’ plan to life. Upon completion, the DeHority Residence Complex became Ball State University’s first LEED Silver Certified building on campus.
