Electrical Engineer

Schmidt Associates is looking for a highly motivated, qualified Electrical Engineer to join our team! 

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide support for senior engineers and designers.
  • Coordinate and attend meetings with clients, project team members, outside consultants, utilities and vendors.
  • Visit project sites to gather existing condition information.
  • Assist with the design of interior and exterior lighting, power and fire alarm systems, for new and renovation projects.
  • Assist with the creating of plans for details, one-line diagrams, schematics and schedules.
  • Assist with the editing of technical specifications.
  • Provide support during bidding and construction phases of projects.

Experience/Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Engineer In Training certification preferred.
  • Minimum 0-3 years of experience.
  • Experience with Revit/Autocad.

The Project Manager will focus on managing projects for a single, specific client and will be located at the client’s premises. The ideal candidate would have experience throughout the Project Management life cycle with a skill in coordinating a design A&E firm, internal stakeholders, and the installing contractors. The majority of the Project Manager’s time will be spent processing the project from defining the program requirements, through professional design services and then client approval.  The Project Manager will continue to provide general project administration during the construction phase.

Experience/Education:

  • 5-8 years of direct project management experience
  • Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field
  • Six Sigma or PMP Certification a plus

Project Architect

Schmidt Associates is looking for a dynamic individual to join the organization in a Project Architect capacity.

Qualifications:

To be responsible for providing design coordination and technical leadership to the Project Team for all phases of a Project. Ability to plan and meet project budget and deadlines, the ability to lead a project team, and a holistic understanding of design and construction process while maintaining quality standards and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Manager in developing Project delivery strategies.
  • Prepare construction cost estimates.
  • Monitor and update through the design process.
  • Coordinate and direct the Project Team to conduct site analysis, building analysis, code analysis, and systems analysis.
  • Ensure that the Project Team evaluates, and as agreed upon with the Owner, incorporates sustainable, high performance, and/or LEED elements into the design.
  • Prepare alternative design solutions.
  • Coordinate all aspects of the design with the Project Team.
  • Ensure that Owner criteria are being met by all disciplines.
  • Ensure that project deliverables, documents and schedules, are being met by the Project Team.

Experience/Education:

  • A Master’s Degree in Architecture, licensure is required.
  • Individual should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience

Construction Delivery Systems Manager

Schmidt Associates is looking for a dynamic individual to join the organization in a Construction Delivery Systems Manager capacity.

Qualifications:

The position requires a thorough knowledge of construction management, contracting, and the project delivery process including considerable high-level supervisory and administrative experience. Requires a strong competency in the implementation of quality control procedures and the ability to coordinate and integrate construction delivery into the firm’s facility design process.

Responsibilities:

Support Construction Administration and overall organization with the management of the systems and processes utilized to deliver construction services. This includes Construction Administration (basic services), Extended Services, and the quality control of the design documents.

This includes:

  • Quality Assurance of Construction Delivery by serving as a liaison for the organization
  • Quality Control Programs by supporting and managing standards and expectations of the CA Staff
  • Manages Information Processes and deliverables for CA
  • Participate in initial planning of delivery with Project Managers and Project Architects
  • Contact for all disciplines and studios for general construction trends and costing

Experience/Education:

  • Minimum of 15 years of Construction Administration experience
  • Experience in an AE or Construction Firm preferred
  • Applicable General contracting/ Sub Contracting experience
  • Bachelor Degree in Construction Management Technology, Architecture, Engineering or related field

Student Interns

We are seeking student interns for:
  • Architecture
  • Landscape Architecture
  • Engineering

Student interns will work directly with Project Managers and Project Architects to receive direction on daily project activities. This is included, but not limited to, creating conceptual project renderings, maps, and updates to Building Information Modeling. The intent of the internship is to provide the student with applicable, hands-on experience to better prepare for entering the work force upon graduation.
